The Whiffenpoofs Afternoon Concert
Coming to the Wombat Hollow Forum via the White House, Carnegie Hall, Broadway’s Lincoln Centre and the Rose Bowl, the world’s finest a cappella group.
By tradition the Concert will conclude with the Whiffenpoof Song immortalised by the ‘Whiffs’ and performed by Elvis Presley, Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong
The 14 men strong Whiffenpoofs was founded in 1909 at Yale University when “on a frosty January night five of the Yale Glee Club’s best singers convened at Mory’s Temple Bar to escape the cold. Louis Linder, the tavern’s barkeep and musical aficionado welcomed them in, beginning an institution that survives to this day”.
Each year the ‘Whiffs’ continue their century-old tradition with over 250 performances, across six continents in 30 countries - now to include the Wombat Hollow Forum, Robertson, NSW, Australia!
Sunday 20 August at 2.30pm. Cost is $95 per person which includes afternoon tea.
